Handwriting and document production are different questions
Who wrote an entry, whether text was altered and how a document was produced are not one universal question. Describe the item and dispute first, then identify the relevant specialty. Handwriting and technical document examinations may complement one another but need different materials. A preliminary review can use an overview and an identified disputed passage. Do not mark the original or attempt your own tests on its ink or paper.

Originals and specimens shape what can be examined
A copy may support a limited examination, but it does not retain every feature of an original. A specialist assesses sufficiency before the final scope is agreed. Suitable handwriting or signature specimens with a known origin may be needed, and their provision depends on the task and proceeding. Do not deliberately alter a signature or obtain specimens improperly. Explain where the original is, whether access is available and any restrictions imposed by its holder or the court.

The findings should answer the actual question
Findings need more than a final statement: they should identify the objects, approach and limitations. Poor copy quality or a very short signature can affect how definite an answer is. No service should promise an exact production date for any document or certainty from any photograph. Fees follow a review of the questions and material. If used in proceedings, the document’s status and significance follow the relevant process, not the service’s marketing label.
